ISLANDS: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera, Cabrera

The Balearic Islands (Islas Baleares) are an archipelago in the western Mediterranean Sea which form a region (autonomous community) of Spain. The four largest islands are (from largest to smallest): Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. The regions capital is Palma on the island of Mallorca.

There are two official languages in the Balearics: Spanish and Mallorquin (similar to Catalan).

The islands' excellent climate with some 300 days of sun per year, wonderful beaches, a rich culture and hospitality make them a very popular tourist destination. Mallorca and Ibiza particularly, are two of the most popular spots in Spain for holidayers.
